Illusions and Perceptions

There's an old saying 'seeing is believeing', but at times our eyes can deceive us..

The above graphic is a recreation from an article that once appeared in a Heidelberg Booklet - Basic principals of quality control. The two center green squares are exactly the same, yet the right hand one appears darker due to the surroundings.

I will be adding more of my favourite illusions here to further illustrate the idea that we can not always believe our eyes.
